You don’t use it on youtube. This program basically takes midi files, (soundtracks with electronic notes) and displays them digitally. The files on youtube, I think, is rtf. files. Basically video files. If anything you’d need a power of equippment and some top of the line software to breakdown a video file. Your best bets probably looking for a midi file of the desired song or trying to work it out by ear. Or, just buy it.
does it work on a mac?
You could look up the song they are playing. Or, if you just want the song, I suggest downloading GetTube. It’s free and works really well. It will download any youtube video from either Firefox or Safari.
I’m have trouble – when I go to save as it won’t let me save as a midi? it’s weird…

no. You have to use midi files. Midi files have the actual note values and timing stored in the file itself. None of these programs do actual analysis of recorded music.
